Teaching With Social Justice in Mind (10/1-10/7)

This week I finally got the opportunity to meet with my mentee. His name is Calvin and he is in the 9th grade Biology class I am observing. I have not really had a chance to get to know him that much. However, he seems very to be very smart. Most of the kids in the class are all very smart and I do not think Calvin will really need much tutoring. In class this week I really liked Logan’s presentation about the quality school. It really drove home the point of a lot of previous presentations, which was that school and students need effective teachers. The only way we can create a classroom environment where everyone’s diversity can thrive we muct learn to teach effectively. This means being a lead teacher like Glasser describes in the book.  We all need to know how to be fair and equal to our students.
