After viewing all of the Unity in Diversity talks during class, I feel a bigger responsibility to meet each individual student’s needs in my future classroom. Many methods can be used to make this happen, and I think it is important to be adaptable as a teacher. While researching the intervention project, I have seen that even the smallest aspects have an impact on students. The way the classroom is physically set up can change how well students learn. It is crucial to set guidelines and standards so that students know the appropriate behaviors in the classroom. While having these guidelines, I feel it is also important to give children freedom to learn and make discoveries about topics that actually interest them. Allowing students to have group discussions can also be beneficial because they can learn from other students. It will be my goal in my classroom to use these many tactics and others in order to benefit students in the best possible way.
